About me
Confidence Osein is a digital citizenship and cyber safety tech educator, and the founder of Internet Safe Kids Africa, a not-for-profit initiative dedicated to equipping children and young people with the knowledge and skills to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly. She also serves as the Africa Regional Coordinator for the Shield Global Online Safety Conference, where she contributes to shaping, and amplifying African voices in global conversations and strategies around online safety.
She is an alumna and certified Digital Wellness Educator of the prestigious Digital Wellness Institute (DWI), a distinction that enhances her capacity to teach mindful screen time and digital balance. She has been recognized as a DigCit Global Impactor by the Digital Citizenship Institute, USA, for her leadership in promoting responsible digital engagement.
Confidence is a member of the Online Harm Prevention Work Group of Fairplay and has contributed to the XRSI-Child Safety Initiative’s Guardians and Shield Framework -an international effort to build safe, inclusive experiences for children in immersive and emerging technologies. She also served as a research group member at the Center for AI and Digital Policy (CAIDP).
Her professional affiliations include being a 2025 EDSAFE AI Catalyst Fellow, a member of the Trust and Safety Professional Association (TSPA), a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert (MIEExpert), Common Sense Educator, Fellow of the Nigerian School on Internet Governance (fNSIG), and a member of the Internet Society (ISOC) Nigerian Chapter.
Confidence has been recognized on the TechWomen100 Shortlist and is a recipient of the Duke of York Inspiring Digital Enterprise Award (Bronze). Most recently, she was honored with the Tech Transformation Expert Award for her remarkable contributions to internet safety and youth empowerment.
She continues to champion digital safety education across Africa, advocating for policies, practices, and programs that enable young people to thrive and lead responsibly in the digital age.
